Current software developers, retired programmers, and recent bootcamp grads are all welcome to volunteer in Code the Dream’s classes.
Most students start with the Intro to Programming class, which covers basic JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Git/GitHub. From there, they choose between a front end class that focuses on React.js or back-end classes that cover Node.js/Express or Ruby on Rails.
After completing an advanced front end or back end class, students complete the Practicum, in which they work in small groups to create and deploy an app project.
